“ There’s nothing wrong with fear; the only mistake is to let
it stop you in your tracks .” Twyla Tharp
Ursula Cafaro, BA, MA, PhD student
I am the author of a non-fiction book on regret minimization, getting unstuck, living up to our potential and not running scared.
Excerpt from “Getting Over Ourselves: Unearthing old crap so we can move on”:
“Digging into our own crap, taking ownership of it, excavating the origins of our pain, and then learning how to dissipate the strong emotional feelings that arise, empowers us. Empowered is how we move forward. Ultimately, the only way out of our pain is unearthing it to begin with, interpreting what we learn in a way that is in synch and authentic to who we are, all the while withstanding our fear so that we don’t get stuck again. But even if we do get stuck again, and chances are good that we will, when we’ve done our own digging, we’ll have acquired the tools, the wherewithal, the confidence to get back on track without giving our power away to an intermediary. Doing our own work acquaints us with our inherent strength, resilience, and grace. Nothing else will make that kind of impression.
